We all have had to create presentations at some point in our lives. Well, my personal choice for any presentation that I have to create is Canva. Canva is a free online designing software that lets you unleash your inner designer with just a few clicks. You can create almost anything you can imagine with Canva. For this article, we will be focusing on how you can create a beautiful presentation using Canva.
The reason I use Canva to create my presentations is because of a few reasons.
1. It’s really easy to use
2. They have pre-made templates for me to choose
3. I can access the file from anywhere, on any device
4. Canva presentations look really professional
In this article, I will be sharing step-by-step how you can create a beautiful, professional presentation with Canva.
Step 1: Go to Canva
Go to Canva and create a free account. Use this link to get a free 30-day trial of Canva PRO features if you want to use premium features. With Canva PRO, you’ll get access to many unique elements and stock photos.
Step 2: Search for ‘Presentation’
Canva has tons of templates for many different purposes. For this article, since we are focusing on presentations, search for ‘presentation’. You will see a ton of different presentation templates. What I love is that Canva always has the perfect presentation template for every situation. Even if it’s a marketing presentation or a science project, Canva always has exactly what I’m looking for.

Step 3: Choose a Template
Choose a template that suits your presentation type. Canva has tons of presentation templates to choose from. What I really like is that I can choose exactly the type of presentation I want through their well-structured filters. You can filter according to their theme, style, and even colors.
Once you apply the filters, you will get a set of templated that suit the criteria that you set. Isn’t it amazing to see SO MANY options to choose from?
Step 4: Add Your Pages
Once you’ve chosen the template that suits your presentation, you can start editing it. Once you open the presentation template, you will see the first page of the presentation. By the side, you’ll be able to see all the pages that are in the presentation template. From here, you’ll be able to choose the exact pages that you wish to add to your presentation. If you want to add all the pages, click on ‘Apply all 14 pages’ and all the pages of that template will be added to your work file. If you click on the button below, you’ll be able to see an overview of all the pages that you have added to your work file. In here, you can add pages, drag pages to different locations and even delete pages that you don’t need.
While working on your design, if you feel like you want to change the design, you can simply look up other designs through the template search bar.

Step 5: Add & Edit Your Contents
Once you’re happy with the page layouts, you can start adding your contents to the template that you chose. You’re able to change every single detail about your design – the fonts, font size, design colours, images, and everything else. If you need to include a graph in your design, you can do that too. Simply search for ‘graphs’ in elements and you’ll be able to choose the exact type of graph that you need. You can change the data and the colours as well.
If you want to add your own images to your design, you can do that from the ‘upload’ section. Simply upload the design to Canva and you can drop it to your design.
If you don’t have any of your own images, you can choose a stock image from the Canva stock image library. You just need to search for the image that you need and it will pop up.
If you feel like adding a graphic instead of an actual image might suit better for your presentation, go to ‘Elements’ and search for the graphic that you want. Canva has a massive graphic library, with graphics created by thousands of professional creators.
Once you’ve added all your contents and edited the entire template to your liking, and are happy with your design, you can move on to the next step.
Step 6: Present or Download Your Work
Now that you’re done with your presentation, you can rename your design and get ready to present it! You can download it in any of the following formats. My personal favorite is to download as a PDF print because it is much higher quality than the standard version. If you wish to present it instead, you can click on the ‘Present’ button and you’re good to go!
I will let you in on a few more things you should remember when creating presentations on Canva. One really amazing thing is, if you’re doing group work, you can actually share your work with your colleagues. You can share it for them to view, edit, or use as a template in the future.
As you can see, there are so many advantages of using Canva to make your presentations. I hope this article helped you to understand exactly how you can make your presentations so that they look extremely professional! If you haven’t already, head over to Canva and create your free account now!
